EVIDENCE-INFORMED

How the lessons are designed

Lessons use explicit instruction, modelling, active rehearsal, feedback, retrieval and reinforcement in the playground setting. Data identifies a possible focus; educators decide whether the lesson and any environmental response are appropriate.

Evidence, limitations and professional-use guidance

The lesson framework is informed by IES behavioural practice guides and peer-reviewed research on sequenced, active, focused and explicit social-emotional instruction. Playground Pulse and its individual lessons have not yet been independently evaluated, so the product does not claim that a lesson caused any observed change.

Evidence reviewed August 2026. References are provided for transparency and do not imply endorsement, certification, partnership or affiliation. Resources support professional judgement and do not replace safeguarding, disability adjustments, individual support or school policies.
LESSON COVERAGE

A lesson for every default behaviour

Each recommendation maps the recorded category to a specific replacement skill. Custom categories use the restorative fallback unless a school selects another response.
